Reset your Index account password

Before you begin: Make sure that you have an email address associated with your Index Exchange (Index) account. This is configured at the time of integration. If you did not configure your email address, contact your Index Representative.

To access Index APIs, you need an Index password in order to complete authentication. Your password is used to generate an access token in our Authentication API, in the Generate access token route. For more information about authentication, see Getting started with the Authentication API.

Follow the steps below to reset a forgotten password or update your Index account password.

  1. Go to

  2. Click Forgot password.

  3. Enter the email address associated with your Index account.

  4. Click Submit. You will receive an email that includes a URL.

  5. Click the URL in the email that allows you to reset your password. The Create your password page opens that includes the reset token in the Token field.
Note: The reset token is valid for one hour from the time that you initiated the request. If more than one hour has passed and you still need to reset your password, follow steps 2 to 4 above to receive a new reset token.

    - Between 8 and 128 characters
